Welcome to the Western Lake Macquarie Concert Band.

The Bands aim is to promote music generally, and has a wide range of memberships, both young and old, beginner to advanced. From time to time other ensembles can be formed e.g Jazz, Stage, Brass/Woodwind depending on interest and demand.

The Band was formed in November 1978 and has operated ever since. The first rehearsal venue was at the Teralba Community Hall, then the band moved into the Westlakes Music Centre Rathmines from the beginning of 1995.

The emphasis is on entertainment and enjoyment based on mutual respect and co-operation for each other as members of a band. Members are encouraged to develop as musicians and reach their desired potential and to promote the interests of the band.

The band regularly performs at local community events and at regional, state or national competitions from time to time.

Rehearsals

Regular attendance at rehearsals is very important for Band’s to perform at their best. Rehearsals are held each Tuesday in the Westlakes Music Centre, 3 Stilling St. Rathmines.

5.00pm - 6.00pm Learners Classes
7.00pm - 9.00pm Concert Band

In order to get the most out of our limited time together you are encouraged to be seated ready to play at 5.00pm or 7.00pm sharp which means arriving ¼ hour earlier to prepare your instrument, tune, and get your music The Musical Director will be ready to go with their planned program at this time.
